U.S. Head of Marketing & Communications Leader
The U.S. Head of Marketing & Communications Leader serves as a trusted marketing advisor to business leaders and key stakeholders, with a focus on business outcomes. The person in this role will oversee a team of marketing professionals. They will provide strategy and planning for integrated marketing plans and execute campaigns and events that support BearingPoint Consulting, Inc. business across a variety of practice areas. This role has indirect responsibility for extended team members including marketing practitioners who collaborate with the global partners, internal business stakeholders, and external vendors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing the overarching marketing strategy for the business and serving as the strategic marketing advisor for executive leadership; reporting regularly on marketing ROI and impact on the business.
- Establishing executive relationships – including with sales – and bringing new creative ideas to help advance business priorities against defined goals.
- Managing, planning and executing the overall portfolio of campaigns and activity to ensure proper prioritization and utilization of appropriate resources; aligning closely with execution teams to manage bandwidth.
- Planning and managing the overall marketing calendar and budget for the portfolio, including major campaigns, service and product / offering launches, major events and core marketing maintenance activities.
- Coordinating across the Firm Wide marketing leadership team to integrate messaging and strategies, as applicable, to tell a cohesive story to the market around priority areas
- Leading a team of 1-3 individuals.
- Meeting on a bi-weekly basis with the Global Marketing Leader & U.S. Country Leader to review priorities and the allocation of resources needed to ensure the successful implementation of the Marketing plan.
- Working with the Partners to identify events for the U.S. team to participate in. This includes getting specific events from Partners as well as researching and suggesting additional conferences.
- Leading the Practice's digital marketing/online marketing strategy to drive lead generation and brand awareness.
- Work with conference event teams to secure BearingPoint space and signage, get attendee list and conduct reach outs, attend the conferences to support the BearingPoint brand and to take pictures, posting conference updates on social media, and leading the follow-up with conference attendees. Facilitating discussions with Partners to recommend White Paper / Campaign topics based on market trends. Coordinating with Practices for specific content development and leading Marketing resources to conduct parallel research to populate key data points to support BearingPoint positions.
- Coordinating with practice “Brand Ambassadors” to populate social media channels. Stay up to date on industry trends, technology, and best practices to optimize marketing efforts and value for the firm.
Requirements:
- Five or more years of experience in leading B2B Marketing efforts.
- An innovative mindset that can think strategically with a willingness to execute tactically
- Strong organizational skills and project management skills – with ability to prioritize and manage expectations across multiple, complex projects / priorities with aggressive due dates and quick turn-around times.
- Experience in campaign management.
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective storytelling, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization with a cross-functional, virtual team; experience in large professional services firm required.
- Experience with advanced analytics and using campaign data and sales data to determine priorities and measure effectiveness.
- Demonstrated relationships with various media outlets and platforms.
- Experience in setting up and leading events and conferences.
- Ability to manage teams and budgets
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications.
- Proficiency in SEO tools and marketing automation platforms.
- Deep understanding of integrated brand marketing and advertising, encompassing events, sponsorships, internal communications, marketing research, media and industry analyst relations, internet marketing, client-centric marketing, and various campaign types.
- Experience partnering with Global Marketing teams to ensure the maintenance of global brand standards while effectively localizing strategies to suit regional requirements.
- Experience building and leading a high performing multi-disciplinary marketing team
