HR Manager
BearingPoint is a global consulting firm based in Europe with over 6,000 employees worldwide. As business has expanded to three legal entities : BearingPoint U.S. INC (Advisory Consulting Services); BearingPoint NA LLC (an SAP focused joint venture with Abeam); Arcwide (an IFS focused company).
With our complexity increasing, we have a need to split HR into two main functions:
HR Strategic Leadership
HR Tactical / Employee Facing Activities
This role is focused on the HR Strategic Leadership position, which is responsible for supporting all three BearingPoint related entities in the U.S.
The preferred candidate is someone who has 7+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in Consulting or Professional Services. The key responsibilities for this position include:
Managing our relationship with Sequoia, our vendor for payroll and benefits. This includes being the main point of contact, troubleshooting any issues, monitoring service level performance, and evaluating whether to extend or look for new providers as the contract expires
Working with external legal firms to handle immigration related activities. Being the focal point for ensuring employees who need to have immigration status updated or renewed are taken care of and following BearingPoint and legal processes
Working with internal firmwide HR on any legal issues related to HR
Reviewing and ensuring BearingPoint entities are complying to any federal, state or local HR regulatory requirements and managing any mandatory reporting. Working with BearingPoint entities on the impact of expanding into new states / major cities on HR regulatory compliance
Overseeing HR related due diligence for any acquisition candidates and driving the onboarding of new companies and their employees
Serving as the U.S. face to the BearingPoint global HR community and ensuring that the U.S. is adhering to firmwide policies and processes
Mentoring the HR staff assigned full-time to each entity, providing coaching on HR related topics, ensuring compliance to processes and policies, helping resolve any conflicts
Working with the HR staff assigned to each entity to review trends around WinningTemp, Exit Interviews, and general U.S. culture and providing coaching and serving as the escalation point as needed
Leading the annual compensation planning activity with each entity, providing firmwide guidelines and ensuring planned compensation falls in line with company policy
Identifying any training requirements driven by regulatory compliance and working with entity HR staff to ensure all staff complete the training by the required date
Coordinating the selection of staff to attend firmwide trainings, ensuring the U.S. is allocating resources against our assigned number of seats
Serving as an escalation point for HR related issues for employees in all U.S. entities
Support the recruitment processes for any required positions, including working with recruiting firms and independent candidates.
Salary range is $140,000 - $165,000 with an annual bonus up to 10% of base salary. The ideal candidate lives or is willing to travel to Chicago on a regular basis. For Chicago based candidates, the role will be hybrid with a 50/50 mix of in office and remote.
Travel will be required quarterly to Chicago (if not based there), NY and any future BearingPoint offices as well as 1-2 trips per year to Europe.
Qualifications:
7+ years HR experience, preferably in professional services / consulting.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and results-oriented work habits.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to work with all levels of US colleagues.
Knowledgeable about federal, state and local HR regulatory compliance and reporting
Experience overseeing a 3rd party for payroll and benefits and leading the evaluation of new service providers
Experience driving culture change in growing environments and creating employee related KPIs to monitor team sentiment
Interested in working in an international environment.
Highly motivated and self-driven.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
